Following Hurricane Katrina’s devastation, a New Orleans based storage company decided it was time to find a new home for their corporate headquarters in 2006. Safeguard Self Storage was created and built by its charismatic CEO, Bruce Roch. Bruce’s vision includes providing storage facilities and customer service that are a cut above the competition. With the same spirit for excellence, Bruce desired a headquarters space that reflected his company’s mission. The new headquarters would also become part of a new life for Safeguard employees in Atlanta. It was essential that the space energizes, inspires and supports its users.
Safeguard’s corporate headquarters is located atop an office building in the heart of Atlanta and occupies 14,138 SF. The space supports approximately 55 full time employees and includes a 24-hour customer contact center, training facility and team areas. Design concepts include providing a functional work place, maximizing daylight and allowing flexibility for future growth. The project’s finish palette and materials are reminiscent of items that are utilized in Safeguard’s storage facilities every day yet have been applied together in a modern, sophisticated composition. idea|span’s design team was awarded an ASID Design Excellence Award in 2007 – Bronze (Corporate Project over 10,000 SF).
