President & Chief Executive Officer
Debra is a nationally recognized healthcare design professional and researcher acclaimed for achieving consistent successful evidence-based design and research for healthcare architecture. Healthcare facilities, rehabilitation units, neonatal intensive care units and assistant care facilities have been transformed by and benefited from her vision, talents, and dedicated pursuit of exceptional results.
With more than 25 years of practice, her track record includes assimilating research into evidence-based strategies and environmental forensics. She is a founding member of and serves on the Advisory Board for the American Association of Healthcare Interior Designers (AAHID), a post-professional organization that certifies the knowledge, skills and abilities of healthcare interior designers.
Debra possesses a keen understanding of the daily experiences of patients and their families, clinical staff, hospital administrators and visitors. She is a strong advocate of collaboration and knowledge-sharing towards the improvement of people’s health and quality of life within buildings.
A published author with over 23 articles and books focused on factors affecting patients, families, and healthcare workers including patient outcomes, infection control and transmission, healthcare staff retention, and cost implications of the physical environment.

Laura began her professional career in Atlanta, Georgia at idea|span where she advanced quickly and worked closely with the firm’s principals on various project types including: design for corporate headquarters, hospitals, customer contact centers and government projects.
Laura has excelled at wearing many hats including the roles of project manager, interior designer and team captain. She has often been the first pick to train employees and establish new standards. Her list of clients includes Coca-Cola Enterprises, Safeguard Self Storage, the Girl Scouts of Northwest Georgia, T-Mobile, Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Health System and the U.S. Army Special Operations Forces.
Armed with a positive work ethic and roll-up her sleeves attitude, Laura is a quick study and skilled communicator with the ability to deliver exceptional customer service. She possesses a contagious enthusiasm and vibrant energy that fuels her innovative and solution-driven approach. Laura thrives on new challenges and working with others to build their business. Her experience has taught her the importance of creating imaginative spaces that meet her clients’ aesthetic desires, programmatic needs and budgets. At the core, her mission is to help people work, heal and live better within the buildings they use every day.
